Samantha is a lover of food and committed to making the world a better and brighter place for generations to come. She currently oversees the Corporate Citizenship program at a local utility in Pittsburgh, PA where she administers the company’s community engagement efforts and sustainability strategy. 

 

Samantha is also a co-found of Invest in Her (www.weinvestinher.org), an organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting women owned enterprises throughout Southwest PA. Invest in Her is home to Pittsburgh’s only all-female pitch competition and has completed 4 competitions and granted over $30,000 since 2015. The most recent pitch featured three women-owned food businesses working to stay afloat throughout the COVID pandemic. This recent pitch shed light on the need to support women-owned main street businesses that support our local economy. 

 

When Samantha is not working on some of the tough problems facing the world, she’s at home cooking up some of her family favorite dishes on her blog Haute Pepper Bites (www.hautepepperbites.com) along with her son and favorite sous chef. 

 

Samantha has a BA in American Studies and English from the University of Virginia. She resides with her husband and son in Pittsburgh, PA.
